Part 6: Chapter 2 – Day 6: Trust

Welcome to Day 6 of Part 6‘s Chapter 2 of Arise and Shine. Today, Anna is bringing forward the sixth free will offering of ram skins dyed red.

Ever so slowly, my eyes have been opening to the purpose in all the surrenders God has led me through since burying my Mum. I can see how He has been leading me, step by step, to learn how to receive His love, His mercy and His compassion for me.

The thing is, though, that I am so used to doing life alone from all those years as a Prodigal, when I believed God had rejected me because of my weakness and need. So, I have needed Him to repeatedly uncover my need and draw me into His arms in that place.

Beautifully He continually prompts me, through His Body, His Word, nature, hymns and so many other ways, to come and pour out my heart before Him and to then still to listen for His response. It’s not me trying so hard to trust Jesus. It’s Him being that soft and trusting heart in and for me, as He uncovers and reveals the beauty of His Presence inside of me and all around me.

In all those places I now feel so very weak and unable to be there for others as I want to be, He is revealing the beauty of His perfecting work and His sufficiency for me and for those I love. When I have wanted to cling to the enemy’s accusations, He hasn’t let me do so. He has sent precious stories my way of others walking through similar illnesses to me that have revealed His deep compassion for me. It shows me that there is such power in coming into the light: not just for us personally, but for others too. As we boast in our weakness, speaking of God’s compassion for us, our stories lift the accusations of the enemy against our brothers and sisters in Christ also.

Are you also in a place of great weakness and need right now? Be encouraged that this is the very place God’s life and power will become most visible in and through us and most palpable to us, as His trusting and believing heart beating inside of us is revealed, more and more. For, it’s broken open vessels that pour out the light of Christ and declare His glory to the world.

May this poem bless your heart today:

Isn't the absence of pain
Isn't the absence of tears
Isn't the absence of gaping loss
Nor the absence
Of stumbling.

It's perfect Love
Driving out all fear
Bottling all our tears
And catching us
As we fall.

It's the everlasting arms
Firmly beneath us
The sure foundation
Of God's Word
Before and behind us
Ever leading us out.

It's Christ's
Of our hearts
To His.

It's His uncovering
Of our need
To draw us
Into His arms.

It's His humbling
To heal us
And reveal
His undivided heart
In us.

It's our Rock
And mighty Redeemer
Perfecting His power
In our weakness.

Precious Jesus
Lift every accusation
Birthed in pride
To reveal
Your pride in us.

Put down our roots
Ever deeper still
Into the good soil
Of Your heart for us.

Reveal Your heart
Of trust
In the Father
Inside of us.

Press us into Your life
The Word made flesh
Mercy's stream
Ever flowing fresh.

Open our hearts
To living water
From Your throne of grace
To love and mercy
In Your Spirit
Ever glowing.

Remind us
Your precious sons
And daughters
Of the Most High King:

You ached
You wept
You walked this earth
Becoming One with us
To crush the serpent's head
And now make us One in you
In human weakness
Your power perfecting.

For at the Cross
What You
Have joined together
No man can ever separate.

Colossians 2:7 (NLT)
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Isaiah 54:17 (ESV)
no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.”
