Part 7: Chapter 2 – Day 7: One

Welcome to Day 7 of Part 7′Chapter 2 of Arise and Shine. Today, Anna is bringing forward the final free will offering of the table of the showbread.

ONE

Oh how easily
I forget
That You're
Always breathing
That new life
Is always
Speaking
Stretching
Growing me.

Shrouded
In my fear
That you've
Left me
Even then
You're speaking
You're breathing
The new
On my lips
Purified by
Fire.

In my stumbling
You return me
To rest
In Your guarding
Of my soul
Your heart
And Your Word
Upon my lips.

You remind me
Not to
Turn back
With my hand
To the plough
But to walk forward
With Your Gospel
Of peace
Strapped to my
Feet
Your truth and grace
Training me.

Thank You
That You always
Deliver us
From condemnation
You see
The wounds
We carry
On our feet
For choosing
To walk
With You.

So You stoop down
To wash our feet
In Your Word
Again and again
So we can
Get up again
And walk
Into Your grace.

A grace
That is always
And ever
Sufficient for us
A grace
That lifts
Up our face
To the heavens
Reminding us
That the doors
You have opened
No one can shut.

Training me
In righteousness
Lifting my fears
One by one
In the light
Of Your love
You remind me
You complete
What You start.

You remind me
To taste and see
To celebrate
To welcome
The doors
You've opened
Before me
Not because
Of my holinesss
But Your coal
Upon my lips
And the Cross
Ever before
And behind me.

Lifting
My eyes
A rainbow
In effervescent
Colors sretching
Your banner
Over me
Is love
Heaven's gate
Is open wide
The tent pegs
You're stretching
Ever wider
Calling us
Home.

Whispering in wind
And skies
You're ever
Reminding me
My hands to lift
To dance
And sing again
In glory's cloud
Pouring out
The latter rains
Your Word
Preparing the soil
For a harvest
Bountiful and
Full.

Tears
Remembering
You see
And know
And hear
Always have
Always will.

Breathing
New life
You're steadfast
Sure
Holding us
Securing us
Rebuilding us
Restoring us
Your family
One.

Our foundations
Firm
Our feet
Secure
Yes, we can walk
We can run
Rejoicing
In the One
In whom
We are
I AM
Known
And loved.

For by
Your stripes
We ARE healed
It is finished
The lover
Of our soul
Has not departed
No!
For Your eyes
Our eyes
Turn toward.

To see
Each and every
Sparrow
In Your hand
Secure
By Your Word
That never lies
We are always
Knit together
Kindred
One.

2 Chronicles 20:9 (ESV)
‘If disaster comes upon us, the sword, judgment,or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and before you—for your name is in this house—and cry out to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.’

2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NIV)
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

1 Kings 8:37-43 (NIV)
“When famine or plague comes to the land, or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers, or when an enemy besieges them in any of their cities, whatever disaster or disease may come, and when a prayer or plea is made by anyone among your people Israel—being aware of the afflictions of their own hearts, and spreading out their hands toward this temple— then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive and act; deal with everyone according to all they do, since you know their hearts (for you alone know every human heart), so that they will fear you all the time they live in the land you gave our ancestors.“As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name— for they will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when they come and pray toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name.

So beautiful, dear Anna. I think this is one of my favorites of your poems. Oh, may I not forget that He is always at work, always bringing transformation His way.
