Day 19: In Christ Revealed

Prayer candles lit in a church we visited in France with our girls last summer.
Deuteronomy 33:18-19
Of Zebulun he said, "Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going forth, And, Issachar, in your tents. "They will call peoples to the mountain; There they will offer righteous sacrifices; For they will draw out the abundance of the seas, And the hidden treasures of the sand."

The Hebrew Word translated here as to “draw out” means according to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance: give milk, nursing mother, give, make to sucking child, A primitive root; to suck; causatively, to give milk — milch, nurse(-ing mother), (give, make to) suck(-ing child, -ling).

I bless us to be humbled and to humble ourselves beneath the mighty hand of God. I bless us to boast in nothing but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to us, and we to the world. I bless us, just as Jesus, to become of no reputation, to empty ourselves and to take on the form of a servant, to humble ourselves even unto death, that no longer we, but the glory of our God and His resurrection power, that is perfected in human weakness, may be seen in and through us.

I bless us to walk in the light, as Christ is in the light. I bless us to speak the truth to one another in love, confessing our sins to one another freely and praying with and for one another that we may have fellowship with one another through Christ Jesus, and be cleansed from all sin by the blood of Jesus. I bless us to lay down our life for one another, to pick up our Cross and to follow Jesus, wherever He leads us.

I bless us to rejoice, in our going forth, and in our places of waiting and camping with our LORD. I bless us, through our obedience in either going or staying, where God has called us to, to call peoples to the mountain of our God to offer righteous sacrifices, to draw out the abundance of the seas, and the hidden treasures of the sand. I bless us to receive God’s acceptance and approval at the foot of the Cross, as we lose our life in this world to find it in Christ alone.

On Rock
He teaches
Us to build
With human hands
We go to work
Believing
Our self-righteous works
Our Rock
Must build.

And so
He sends us forth
In waters deep
Storms now come
Our human rock
To shipwreck
Break
On foreign shores.

We sift our debris
Eyes laid low
Yearning now
Our rock of old
To clasp
But on foreign shores
This rock of old
Now lies
Shattered, broke
Undone, we cry.

But in our weeping
He bows our knees
Each missing grain to see
Now bathed in Light
Our tears are washing
Hidden treasures
In shifting sands
Laid bare
Eternity
Now glowing.

His Promises
As gifts in weakness
Now laid bare
Hidden treasures
An abundance
Out of the seas
Christ in us
Is drawing out.

Let waters
Rise
Let storms now
Come
Let sand here
Shift
His Promises
Shall then
In Spirit rise to
Glow.

Rejected by humans
But chosen by God
And precious to Him
Each missing grain
Sparkles bright
Each jewel
In shifting sands
We see unveiled.

Each living stone
God builds
Into a Temple
In Spirit One
A holy priesthood
We now come
Offering
Spiritual sacrifices
Acceptable to God
Through Jesus Christ
Alone.

For as the earth brings forth its sprouts,
And as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up,
So the Lord God will [most certainly] cause righteousness and justice and praise
To spring up before all the nations [through the power of His word].

Isaiah 61:11 (AMP)
