Day 23: Come, Meet our Father

The spacious place of His choosing for me, where in my hemming in so many prayers, songs and tears have poured out of me over the years, as Jesus has interceded through me for us, His Bride.

Sing, Daughter Zion; shout aloud, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Zephaniah 3:14‭-‬17 NIV

Today, I have invited my dear friend Bettie to speak a blessing over us all to accompany the poem I penned in prayer and worship, as we gather here to thank Him for the gift of His Son to us.

I bless us to know today, our Saviour’s precious redeeming of every lost and broken place. May we feel His mercy pouring over each of our souls as the breaking only presses us closer to His heart. May we be so blessed to know our Lord has carried every weakness and lifted every sorrow, and awakened our hearts to His glorious love.

I bless us to fall into the gift of surrender as we lay each loved one before our Saviour. May we find His overflowing might protecting us from every harm the enemy has tried to yoke upon us. May we be so blessed to find that in the laying down of our own strength, His glorious might would carry us more firmly than anything we might have accomplished on our own. And may He bless us to see His own sweet rejoicing gifted and growing where every surrender had lain.

I bless us to know the harvest that the great gardener of our souls is reaping even now.  May we see His fullness in these places of hemming in. May we see His mercy in the coming and the going, both such gifts of His planting and harvesting. May He show us that each dying seed is now filled with His life ever flowing. And may He bless us to rest in His merciful pruning, as He sings His growing song over us. Amen.

I see
Your sword's
Dividing
In my weakness
Punishment
And death
Ceding.

But You remind me
Your power's
Perfected in weakness
Unmerited, boundless
Favor for each part
Of the whole
Christ's death
For us all
New life
In eternity awaking.

Mercy's here growing
Ever deeper, ever wider
Your blood that was shed
Love revealing
In these roots stretching out
Ever deeper, ever wider
To the river of life
Jesus flowing
God's grace for all.

"Come," You cry into our desert
"Drink the living water
My glorious joining
Shalom overflowing
For You, my Body
In the breaking
A peace beyond
All human fathoming
In your living sacrifice
The Church I AM waking."

A divine mystery
In Christ revealed
You show me, as I linger here
With You
In and through our human weakness
A holy and sacred
Eternal completion
The Word
Made flesh is
Proclaiming.

In the Father's
Overshadowing
You call me to
Taste and see
You: Jesus
Goodness and mercy
Our heavy burdens lifting
A new heart in us
Your Bride awaking.

I feel You here
Your hand upon me laid
In this hemming in
You're carrying me
You're carrying us
Your beloved children
To the throne of grace.

"Take heart!"
I tell this broken heart
In intercession healing
In the hope of glory
My Jesus
I now arise to shine
My light
Into the night
I hear Him singing
To and through me:

"Come, take My hand
Let's meet our Father."

When He heard their cry,
He took note of their distress,
remembered His covenant with them,
and relented according to the riches
of His faithful love.
He caused them to be pitied
before all their captors. Save us, Yahweh our God,
and gather us from the nations,
so that we may give thanks to Your holy name and rejoice in Your praise. May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised
from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!”
Hallelujah!

Psalm 106:44-48 HCSB

All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
and great shall be the peace of your children.

Isaiah 54:13 ESV
