Part 4: Chapter 3 – Day 6: Thank You [Republishing]

Welcome to Day 6 of Part 4’s Chapter 3 of Arise and Shine. Today, Anna is bringing forward the sixth free will offering of blue thread.

Thank You

Thank you for the gifts
Not of gold or earthly worth
But heaven's own
Of joy and hope and life.

Thank you for the blessings
Not of ease or earthly seen
But Glory's own
Of Present Power strong in me.

Thank you for the Son
Not for darkness gone
But darkness is as Light to Him
Our inmost being knit to Truth.

Thank you for the showers
Not of droughts now gone
But Living waters flow
Their fruit in deserts bring.

Thank you for the tears
Not for grief all gone
But joy You breathe in shards of pain
Release, embrace in Truth.

Thank You for all
You purposed true
My life in worship led
Each bend and turn to more of You
My highway and forever home.

No power of dark
No demon, angel,
Power below, above
Your Love in me can rent.

Thank you for my Christ in me
Your Spirit seal
Of Life in You
Eternal true

My all.

Paul didn’t tell us here in Ephesians that God fixes everything, makes us feel better, or gets rid of our deficiencies. In fact, Paul didn’t say much about us at all. Instead, he made sure we would know all about God…

who is rich in mercy,

who greatly loves us,

who intercepted our waywardness,

and made us alive with Christ,

who raised us up,

and shows us the immeasurable riches of His grace and kindness,

who saves us by His grace,

molds us,

and makes us first to do good works.

If there’s one passage of Scripture that fully summarizes the benefits of grace, it’s this one. Paul succinctly declared all that is fundamentally changed because of the grace of God. The words but God are our reminder that

we can’t, but God can.
