Day 3: We are Awaking

Welcome to Day 3 of 31 Days of Healing Leaves: Awaking Us All to the Glory of God in our Midst.

Today’s post is in honor of Hester, a woman of valor, I only know through the stories of my dear friend, her sister-in-law. Hester’s beautiful legacy of love now lives on in her two young children and the many others she blessed in her very short 37 years on this earth.

“And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” (Luke 1:45)

You, Papa
Make room
In us for
Your heart

To grow
To be enlarged
To run in the path
Of Your promptings

To feel
A leaping
Inside us
Joy knowing

In Your Promises
Beautifully secure
In Your heart
Here unfolding

Oh how freeing
To rest daily
To lay every burden
At Your feet

To rest in peace
For You to arise
In our dying
Our true life

Awaking in us
As You teach us
To trust and believe
In You, in Your

Breaking open
Of the seed in all
By the Word
Who lives

And moves
These hands
And feet:
Your Body

In unison for us
To love each other
In You undivided
And made holy

In Your delight
In our nearness
We now take eat

At Your table
Drinking deeply
Of the cup of life
Washing away our sin

Revealing there
In place of pain and fear
Your deep longings
For our blessed reunion

As we now bow low
To wash Your weary
Feet in love, Your
Friendship receiving

Holy laughter now
Lifting our hearts
In Holy Spirit
Joy leaping

In our changing
Minds awaking to
You: our Promise

In stars shining
Brightly in this
Night sky, Your Body
Hidden no more

In Your living
Intercession drawing
Near to You
We are awaking

Hebrews 7:25 (ESV, my emphasis)
Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Ephesians 3:14-21 (HCSB, my emphasis)
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. 16 I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit, 17 and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, 19 and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— 21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
