Day 5: The LORD’s Story of Victory

Welcome to Day 5 of 31 Days of Healing Leaves: Awaking Us All to the Glory of God in our Midst.

In honor of Doris Louise, my spiritual Mama’s mother. Doris never finished writing her life story down on paper, but her frequent stories of God’s faithfulness and her keen seeking of God’s beauty in the tiniest of details- especially in nature – through terrible suffering continue to bear fruit in her family and many others through her family, today.

Oh yes, God loves to multiply His gifts to us, when we release them to bless others. I bet Doris is beaming from the cloud of witnesses, cheering Bettie and her husband Barry on, with the publication of their new book: Abiding in Him – A Life Together in Ministry, as they now continue to pass on Doris’ legacy – the LORD’s Story Of Victory.

Psalm 106:44-48 HCSB
When He heard their cry,
He took note of their distress,
remembered His covenant with them,
and relented according to the riches
of His faithful love.
He caused them to be pitied
before all their captors. Save us, Yahweh our God,
and gather us from the nations,
so that we may give thanks to Your holy name and rejoice in Your praise. May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised
from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!”

Psalm 126:6 BSB
He who goes out weeping, bearing a trail of seed, will surely return with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves of grain.

The LORD's Story

Praise Him
When your
Heart's breaking

Praise Him
For the new day

Look to Him
When you
Know not
What to do

Sing hymns
Into the
And doubts

In delight
In Jesus

For us all
To live
In Him

Just watch
Him lift every
Burden cast
At His feet

Unto heaven's
Heart arising
We're picking
Up our mats

To walk out
Together in hope
Toward a future
Now awash

With praise
For Christ's
Powers of

For all
Powers above
And below
Here bowing

At the sound
Of our God's
Mighty Voice
Praise Him

For our story
Is and always

The LORD's story
Of victory

  1. Oh such tears 😭😭 thank you dear Anna for this very special gift of words in tribute to my Mom. His grace is pouring still from all her eternal prayers. Yes it is His song of victory, every awaking to His place of glory now!

    1. Amen. Living and active is that Word He speaks through us – in prayer and deed. Love always remains. May we see more and more of the beautiful ways God is unfolding that love in our midst and redeeming the time. Love you xoxo
