Day 7: Trusting in Jesus

Welcome to Day 7 of 31 Days of Healing Leaves: Awaking Us All to the Glory of God in our Midst.

In honor of our daughters, through whom Jesus daily invites me into the joy of seeking, resting in and abiding in His Word to me. What Sabbath rest flows in that place of abiding in Jesus, as His Words begin to abide in us, empowering us to lay down our idol of responsibility to fix ourselves and others to instead rest in His pure and undefiled doing in us, for us and through us.

John 15:7 (ESV) If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Galatians 5:6 HCSB [additional meanings added from: https://biblehub.com/lexicon/galatians/5-6.htm]
For in Christ neither circumcision or uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith [divine persuasion] working through love [what God prefers].

Trusting in Jesus

Striving to
Fix myself
I think I
Need to be
Alone to hear

From You
Until I feel
A prompting
"Invite her
Along too"

And oh
The double
Portion of
Double joy
In this together

Christ tells me
Again 'n again
Each leaf
Shedding is
Beautiful grace

Yes, my thoughts
And my ways are dying
In the Word fulfilled
Awaking for me here
A childlike heart

Trusting in Jesus.

  1. “And oh
    The double
    Portion of
    Double joy
    In this together”

Amen. He is so good to uncover this truth and show us the double portion of shared joy. Blessings to you and your dear daughters!
