Day 8: Christ Be Known

Welcome to Day 8 of 31 Days of Healing Leaves: Awaking Us All to the Glory of God in our Midst.

In honor of my husband, who is seeking and finding God’s gentle and quiet Spirit within me. Through him, God is ripping off the enemy’s covering of pride, fear and deceit to make known the hope of glory, Christ in me.

1 Peter 3:1 (ESV)
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,

1 Peter 3:3-4 (BSB)
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair or gold jewelry or fine clothes, but from the inner disposition of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.

Christ Be Known

You tell us
Beauty is not
Outer adornment
But the inner self
Of unfading beauty
Hidden in Christ

A gentle
And quiet spirit
Which is of
Great worth
In Your
Blessed sight

Let this Spirit
Be uncovered
In Jesus
A new heart
Laying down
Our will

For the Father's
Will to arise
To be still
And know
You alone
Are God

You will
Be exalted
Among the nations
And on the earth
In our humbling

We shall
See
The hope of glory
In us
Christ be known.

Isaiah 52:7 (ESV)
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”

James 4:10 (ESV)
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

Colossians 1:22 (ESV)
To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

“Look for love; look for the divine love that is at the heart of you—that is the heart of you, however hidden it might seem now. That is what you really want to find.”
