Day 14: Night into Day

In honor of my Mum, who showed me the power of Christ’s work of repentance. My Mum’s final weeks on earth continually remind me that our God will indeed perfect that which concerns us. Her living witness keeps reminding me to stop, to pray and to listen for God’s Word to me – which so very often changes my mind and my path. And in that place of repentance, God truly turns my weeping into tears of joy, as He opens my eyes to the power of the Cross, to the fullness of restoration and redemption that is mine and my family’s in Christ Jesus. He turns my night into day.

Psalm 138:8 NKJV
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Night into Day

Thank You
For reminding
Us of the Words
You have spoken

For lifting
Us up into
The heavenly
Places

To see
Our heads
Resting on
Your chest

Your children
Now weaned
Our feet
Firmly planted

On the Rock
Of Ages
Steadfast
And securely

Resting in
Your dominion
Sovereignly sealed
And assured

To now walk
Out the
Good works
You planned

So long ago
Remembering
Those dreams
And visions

You never forgot
But only
Prepared us
To wake up

At the
Appointed
Kairos
Time

To bow low
To confess
With our hearts
And our tongues

You are LORD
Alone, tasting
Your power here
Perfected

In weakness
Where no longer
Fear and shame, but
Christ shines

Through all
Turning
Our night
Into day.

Psalm 131:1-3 HCSB
Lord, my heart is not proud;
my eyes are not haughty.
I do not get involved with things
too great or too difficult for me. Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself
like a little weaned child with its mother;
I am like a little child.
Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
both now and forever.

  1. Dear Anna, these are such true and comforting words:

    “To bow low
    To confess
    With our hearts
    And our tongues

    You are LORD
    Alone, tasting
    Your power here
    Perfected

    In weakness
    Where no longer
    Fear and shame, but
    Christ shines

    Through all
    Turning
    Our night
    Into day.”

Truly His blood does speak that better word for us, the rock solid foundation we can depend upon. I so look forward to meeting your dear Mum in Heaven, in that reunion with my Mom too. His grace fully perfected!!
