Day 29: Breath of Heaven

God’s beauty on display in the heaven-breathed artwork of my precious sister in Christ, Becky. Her, her husband and her son’s beloved gifts from God, Faith and Eden, were born into the arms of Jesus. Becky is also the daughter of my dear friend Bettie, who I invited to share any Scriptures God laid on her heart for today’s post. The three God gave her are published below. [Artwork published with Becky’s permission]

“The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Job 33:4

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Colossians 3:1‭, ‬3‭-‬4 NIV

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

Romans 8:26‭-‬27 NIV

Today’s blessing over us comes to us through my dear friend Debbie, whose beloved youngest son, Roma, went home to Jesus.

I bless us to understand and embrace God’s redemption for us in all our brokenness, to know in Christ that the world will not always be as it is now, but made new. I bless us because Jesus told us that in this world, we will have trouble. I bless us to know and experience for ourselves the Promise of Jesus to us that He has overcome this world.

I bless us to lean into God’s provision in our every need. I bless us to know our only mandate is in Christ, in trusting in the Word and His provisions, fully submitting by His power at work in us to His perfect will. I bless us to know we are blessed because God is always beckoning, and as His sheep, we hear His voice. I bless us to lean into Christ’s longing to yield us to the Father’s good and perfect will for us.

BREATH OF HEAVEN

Do you see the many leaves
Crushed and broken, torn,
Barren tree
Weeping shittim wood
Arms stretched heavenward
Waiting?

As manna then from heaven
Falls
Bare they do remain
But in praises sway
Many branches, side to side
As One.

Firmly planted
In love's strong roots
Swaying now in Holy Spirit's
Breath of Heaven
Beauty in all barrenness
Life where no life
Man could ever find.

And in their swaying
They beckon
Come
Come, all barren, weary souls
Come find Life in death
Resurrection in arms stretched high
As manna falls.

Chapter 1: Day 7 – Silent No More

Day 7 of Chapter 1 for Arise & Shine. A poem written by Anna Smit.

Isaiah 62:1 (ESV) For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet,
until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
and her salvation as a burning torch.

Galatians 2:19 (ESV) For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.

The tomb is laden
My soul there lies
Entombed, the law a noose
Around my neck is bound.

The tomb is laden
My heart of stone
Entombed to sins
In shame I've hid.

The tomb is laden
My voice is silenced
Entombed to pain
No man can see.

But Christ my tomb
He saw
But Christ the tomb
He walked toward.

Lain in linen white
His cries my own release
My sin and death He bore
My heart to balm and bind.

In the tomb
My Savior breathes upon this flesh
Now crucified with Him
I AM resurrected strong.

Entombed by flesh no more
I now live by faith
No! Not in my flesh
But in the Son of God arising.

The Son of God
Who loved
And gave Himself
For me.

To the law now dead
No longer a noose
But mercy and faithfulness -
Jesus - around my neck I daily bind.

Watch my Savior
Rise and shine
The Son of God
Has set His Temple free.

For it's no longer
I who live but Christ in me
His Voice for Zion's sake
I shall not keep silent!

Proverbs 31: 18 (ESV) Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute.

Galatians 2:20 (ESV) I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Proverbs 3:3 (ESV) Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.

Ezekiel 36:26-27 (KJV) A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
